RoPPPs Update
ISRM Register of Pool Plant Professional Update Seminar (formerly the ISRM Pool Plant Operator Revalidation Course)
Candidates who successfully complete the National Pool Plant Operator Course are automatically be entered on to the ISRM's Register of Pool Plant Professionals (RoPPPs)
To maintain their place on RoPPPs candidates are required to update their knowledge by attending a pool plant related continuous professional development (CPD) training update day within 5 years of qualifying in the NPPO and every five years thereafter.
AIM
• refresh and update the knowledge provided in the NPPO Certificate qualification • to provide an appreciation of current trends • to update knowledge on the latest standards of operation • to consider the changes in the legislative landscape.
CONTENT
The programme addresses the following issues:
The importance of understanding changes in the legislative landscape. Including consideration of: Ø HSG 179 Ø PAS 39 (2003) (particularly bacteriological testing) Ø COSHH regulations 2002 Ø Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 • PWTAG recommendations • Evolving best practice in swimming pool technology, addressing such issues as pH, chlorine levels etc. • Lessons to be learnt from major plant-related pool incidents • Troubleshooting exercises on improving your plant management practices • An examination of current trends in disinfection processes • The growing importance of the efficient use of energy to deliver cost savings
