ISRM National Pool Plant Operators Foundation Certificate (NQF Level 2)
Leading to the Active IQ Level 2 Certificate in Basic Pool Plant Operations
This is a stand-alone course of one day’s duration. It is designed as a basic introduction for anyone interested in swimming pool plant operation who may, or may not, wish to gain the full National Pool Plant Operators Certificate. It is ideal for members of staff who undertake pool water testing, as part of an induction programme and it also provides underpinning knowledge for NVQ units.
The aim of this course is to provide front line staff who work in a swimming pool environment with the skills and knowledge to:
- Test the water.
- Understand the factors that contribute to pool water quality.
- Explain to bathers what can affect pool water quality.
- Understand the importance of good hygiene and cleanliness in and around the swimming pool.
Candidates will be provided with a comprehensive training manual to take back to the workplace.
The qualification is split into two units to reflect the two end of course assessments:
Unit 1 - Basic principles of swimming pool plant – assessed by end of course written test.
Unit 2 - Practical skills in water testing – assessed by end of course assignment.
