ISRM National Pool Plant Operators Certificate (NQF Level 3)

Leading to the Active IQ Level 3 Certificate in Pool Plant Operation

This course aims to provide the sport and recreation operative with:

  • Knowledge of theory and practice of pool water treatment.
  • An understanding of the various items of plant and equipment.
  • The ability to interpret water testing results.
  • An understanding of the basics of energy conservation.

Whilst it is not essential for candidates to obtain the Pool Plant Operators Foundation Certificate as an introduction to the module, it is essential that candidates are familiar with basic principles of pool plant operation and should have experience of water testing.

Candidates will be provided with a comprehensive training manual to take back to the workplace

The qualification is split into two units to reflect the two end of course assessments:

Unit 1 – Practical pool plant operations - assessed by end of course assignment.
Unit 2 – Principles of pool plant operation - assessed by end of course written test.

This course was completely revised in April 2006 and further updated in 2008 to take into account HSG 179, PAS 39 2003 and the current PWTAG recommendations
