We would expect Stage 1 of the course to be completed and the Learner Achievement Portfolio submitted for marking within 4 weeks of enrolment. If, however, this is not possible, you must be made aware that there is a 12-month time limit on the training programme. If the course is not completed within 12 months, the link will expire, and you will be removed from the course.
Programme Outline:
This is an online version of the Active IQ Level 3 Award in Managing Pool Operations (RQF) qualification.
The course comprises of Matthew and Jim Johnson teaching the material over a series of PowerPoint presentations. It is separated into chapters for ease of learning and there will be regular-mini tests to measure progress and to help to consolidate the learning process.
On completion of this part of the course, you will need to contact Matthew on matthew@johnsontraining.co.uk, or 07305244795 so that we can organise a MS Teams call with you, to have a discussion before we then enrol you onto Active IQ Level 3 Award in Managing Pool Operations Stage 2 (RQF). As you progress through the units you need to complete the Learner Acheivement Portfolio (LAP), or be able to complete this at the end using the training material and the manuals provided.
Once you have worked through the first Unit of the LAP, please email matthew@johnsontraining.co.uk, or call on 07305244795, so that we can arrange a follow up MS Teams call to discuss any questions you may have from the first three units of the training, and offer any support that is required to help you progress to the next stage of the course.
Pre-requisites:
You must be 18 years old at the start of the course.
Assessment:
The programme is assessed by filling in a Learner achievement portfolio which will need to be submitted on completion of this online section of the course for marking. This makes up 50% of the total marking for the programme. There is an online exam at the end which makes up the other 50% of the marks.
Guided learning hours:
The suggested guided learning hours for this programme are: 16 hours. But, because the training programme is delivered online, you can work at your own speed in the convenience of your own workplace.
Endorsement:
This training programme is a regulated course by Active IQ, the leading awarding organisation in the active leisure sector.
Certificate
Once the Learner acheivement Portfollio has been completed and both the stages of the online course have been completed, you will be enrolled onto the 3rd stage, which is an Online multiple choice assessment which is manually marked. After successfully passing all parts of the course, we will provide you with a final document for you to complete before requesting your certificate from Active IQ. This final document will ask you to reflect on what you have learnt, how you will look to impliment it into your working day and workplace, and what further support you may need going forward.
Guidance on successfully completing this course:
- We recommend that you use Google Chrome to watch the videos, as we have found that this browser has minimal bufferring compared to other browsers. If you are using a different browser (Edge, Safari, etc) and find you are struggling to watch the video, consider swapping to Google Chrome.
- However long you have been in the business, please do watch every video and read the manual
- Don’t assume you already know everything there is to know
- At the start of every unit there is a manual to download. This is something you can keep and refer to whenever you need to
- Every lesson has a video PowerPoint presentation for you to watch
- Once you have watched it, press Complete Lesson to move onto the next lesson
- At the end of each unit there is a multiple-choice quiz. This is graded automatically.
- These quizzes do not contribute to the final marking of the course, but they are there to simply consolidate the learning done in that unit, and you do have to score at least 80% on each quiz to progress to the next unit.
- You must watch every video to pass the course
- If you fail to achieve 80%, the quiz will be reset, and you will be able to re-take it.
- If you get stuck at any point, click on the ‘My Courses’ tab at the top of the screen, or select a course lesson from the right hand side of the screen.
- If, at the end of the programme, the course is suggesting you haven’t completed 100%, make sure you have clicked ‘complete lesson’ on each lesson.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Please note that in order to maintain the integrity of the qualification and to safeguard against fraud, only the name of the person registered to undertake the training will be named on the certificate.
